Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in that event in the past months.

His retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional victory, took control to create a third set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
